The techniques mentioned in this picture work best with Photoshop CS2 and Wacom tablet, with which the picture was made.

This is about 30% about the picture's true size.
This is not the only way to draw. This is just how I like it.

If you have anything to ask, feel free to! I have all the step images with 100% in size as PSD files on my compy, and I'm more than willing to show them if they're of help for anyone!

The tutorial looks great. It looks so easy like you doing the fur. I will try as soon as I can come up with a good idea. And I'll make sure to show my result to you (when I am successful)

Okay, you just made making fur look really easy. :XD: Now I wanna know how you did the nebula looking colors in the sky. I've wanted to try doing something like that. ^^;

And I would've never guessed that you traced the lines before you colored it.

Thank you! It's my first one yet so I hope it'll be helpful. And I'd say the fur is not hard to do, it just needs countless hours of work to do it (if you don't copy layers) X3

Hehe, it really is not that hard to do, it's just really time consuming X3 That's when the tablet comes in handy; with mouse my hand was always soo hurt when I did fur. 8(
And those colors, I got them like that by using ridiculously lot of dodge, and then putting nebula brush on them so the dodge'd spot wouldn't look too bright. If that's what you meant :3

Oh yes, a friend of mine tried to tell me how I could use the original Background layer without tracing the lines but I never really got it, and well, I've used to do the tracing always before I start actually painting, so I don't mind ^^;

As for your brushes used while shading and defining the fur: What are your settings for dodge/burn and are you using a hard or soft brush with any 'special' settings that you set up custom?
